What is RHB Renovation Loan?

Renovation loan is a financing product tied to a home loan, specifically designed to support homeowners in undertaking renovations to improve or upgrade their homes equity.

Individuals aged 18 years and above

• 1st and 2nd housing loan as per latest CCRIS (as per latest CCRIS report – outstanding credit items)

• Minimum property value of RM500,000 in Klang Valley, Johor Bahru & Penang Island

• Must be a completed property (from developer/secondary market)*

*T&C:

a. Completed landed/high-rise residential properties are defined as second hand transactions/sub sale /newly completed properties with Certificate of Completion and Compliance (CCC) from developer/ auction of residential properties/ refinancing cases.

b. Newly completed properties with CCC from developers are only applicable to landed residential Properties.

c. For high-rise residential properties, only CCC > 3 years is eligible to apply for renovation loan.

➢ Landed properties:

Refurbishment of Property – structural change of the property (relevant certificate issued by local authority for example architect certificate, engineer or building draughtsman certificate, building plan approval and state authority approval are required for loan disbursement);

• Repairs to the property;

• Structural changes including additions to property;

• Tiling, roofing, wirings, plumbing and flooring;

• Interior designing and fixture & fittings for example build in cabinet/wardrobe and

plaster ceiling.

➢ High-Rise properties:

• Repairs to the property;

• Tiling, ceiling, wirings, plumbing and flooring;

• Interior designing and fixture & fittings ie build in cabinet/wardrobe and plaster

ceiling.

Note: Renovation loan excludes purchase of movable furniture and removable items and demolition of the entire building is disallowed.

For landed properties: Max up to 30% against Sales and purchase agreement & Open Market Value whichever is lower

For high rise properties: Max up to 30% against Sales and purchase agreement & Open Market Value whichever is lower and capped at max RM250K
